What shampoo should I use?

This is a question I receive quite often. When bathing your dog at home it is sometimes difficult to make sure your dog is completely rinsed and if you leave any shampoo on your dog it could make them itchy. For beginner home bathers I like to recommend Earthbath: Ultra Mild Wild-Cherry Puppy Shampoo. It is tearless, super gentle and if you don’t get it completely rinsed it won’t be as irritating.

Another shampoo that is great is Bio-Groom Soothing Anti-Itch Oatmeal shampoo.

No matter what shampoo you use it is important to use only a small amount. That way, if your dog doesn’t let you rinse as long as you would like there isn’t much to rinse off.

To help keep your dog in the tub a friend of mine recommended using a bathing tether to help keep your pup in one spot.
